The indoor test centre at Unmanned Valley provides a safe, weather-independent environment to test drones and systems in a controlled manner. With two flight boxes and access to TU Delft's experimental indoor 5G network, it is the ideal facility for reliable testing, learning, and demonstrating.

About the test site

As part of the former Naval Air Station, Unmanned Valley offers you a 2,500 square metre aircraft hangar with a flight ceiling of up to 12 metres. The area is divided into 2 different flight boxes, each with its own designated setup area. 

If you need a test environment where you can test your aircraft, the command and control connection, or simply gain experience with indoor flying free from the elements, you are welcome to make use of our indoor flight box.  

Additionally, there is the opportunity to utilise TU Delft's experimental indoor 5G network. Please contact us if you are interested. If you would like to give a demonstration to clients, employees or students, this can be done safely from a drone cage.

Hangar 1 was originally a so-called T2 aircraft hangar. This type of hangar was developed in England during the Second World War as a demountable and transportable hangar. Eventually, several hundred of them were built. Hangar 1 dates from 1944 and was rebuilt in its current location in 1947.

Huisregels:

The restricted area & airspace ensure that a great deal is possible. To guarantee the safety of all users of the test site, the Central Government Real Estate Agency (Rijksvastgoedbedrijf), as the landowner, has drawn up a set of regulations. These describe how the different users communicate with each other, in which airspace layers they are permitted to fly, and how to handle incidents.
