The former Valkenburg airfield in South Holland is home to the premier Dutch centre for unmanned technology. The closed airspace measuring 500 x 500 x 120 metres is divided into 10 fields, making this the largest dedicated UAS test area in the Netherlands. The 25,000 m² paved platform is also intensively used by various stakeholders from the drone industry. In addition to the outdoor field, we also have an indoor centre and a BVLOS corridor at our disposal.

About the test site

On the former Valkenburg airfield in South Holland, you will find the premier Dutch centre for unmanned technology. The restricted airspace measuring 500 x 500 x 120 metres is divided into 10 zones, making it the largest dedicated UAS test area in the Netherlands. The 25,000 m² paved platform is also intensively used by various stakeholders from the drone industry. In addition to the outdoor field, we also have an indoor centre and a BVLOS corridor at our disposal.

In addition to the outdoor flight box, there is also the possibility of using TU Delft's indoor experimental 5G network. Please contact us if you are interested. If you would like to give a demonstration to clients, employees or students, this can be done safely from a drone cage.

Huisregels:

The restricted area & airspace ensure that a great deal is possible. To guarantee the safety of all users of the test site, the Central Government Real Estate Agency (Rijksvastgoedbedrijf), as the landowner, has drawn up a set of regulations. These describe how the different users communicate with each other, in which airspace layers they are permitted to fly, and how to handle incidents.
