On 8 April, the first edition of Pioneers Capital Day took place at Unmanned Valley. During this new event, startups, scale-ups, investors, corporates and knowledge partners came together around one central theme: accelerating innovation within the autonomous technology sector.

Throughout the day, participants gained insight into the investment landscape for high-tech companies, and there was plenty of opportunity to establish new connections. A key part of the programme was the Dragon’s Den, in which seven innovative startups pitched their businesses to a panel of investors and experts. In addition, several speed-dating sessions took place, allowing entrepreneurs to engage directly with investors and potential partners.

Arqus Aerospace was named the winner of this first edition by the jury, receiving a €2,500 voucher provided by the Economic Board Duin en Bollenstreek, as well as a voucher to participate in the Start Up & Lift Off! incubation programme. R-BUD Technologies secured second place and also received a Start Up & Lift Off! voucher.

Pioneers Capital Day was organised in collaboration with InnovationQuarter, Rabobank, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and the Economic Board Duin en Bollenstreek, and was made possible in part by a grant from the Regional Networks for Innovation South Holland (RNIZ).

With this first edition, Unmanned Valley has taken a new step in connecting innovative entrepreneurs with investors, experts and the wider innovation ecosystem. A valuable foundation for future editions.
